# 6.8 - Add Bribes / Incentives

#### **What this is**

Bribes (incentives) are a **protocol tool** used to attract **veNEST votes**, so a pool receives more **NEST emissions** next epoch. This is not a “user deposit to earn yield.”

Bribes are **paid incentives**, not deposits, to be used by protocols not users. Once submitted for an epoch, they are **non-returnable**.

#### **Steps**

1. Open **Incentivise**
2. Select the pool/gauge you want to incentivise
3. Choose the incentive token + amount
4. Approve token (first time only)
5. Confirm the transaction
6. Track vote weight → emissions → resulting liquidity depth during the epoch

Bribes reward **voters**. Emissions reward **LPs**. They’re separate flows.
